Fav-rey Will Play

Copyright 2008

Who thinks that Green Bay Packers all time great quarterback Bret Favre is really going to retire just because he said that he would in March?

I don't know if my woman will believe that I'm sick and need to miss church every Sunday this football season…I don't know if Obama will beat Hillary or McCain…I don't know if the Rockies will win 100 games (although I think they will)…I don't know if T.O.'s man crush on Tony Romo will turn physical…but I do know one thing for sure…

On opening day, Favre will play.

Bret Favre is the toughest man in football. He is the iron man. He is a little kid who loves to play the game. No one is more competitive. No one has more fun playing.

When asked what his deceased father would say about his career now that it is complete Brett answered, "I know exactly what my dad would say. He'd say, 'Why in the hell are you quiting?"

His team was down for several years but is now on the cusp of going to a Super-Bowl and has a fantastic core of young players. This Packers team is very likely to go and win a Super-Bowl without him next year. And he can most definitely still play. Also, his final play was a game losing interception in overtime that cost the team a trip to the big dance. You gonna tell me this guy goes out like that?

Call me silly but come September I think Favre will become re-invigorated and want to play.
